Investigation Continues In Cases

CELINA — The investigation into a double homicide and home invasion in Mercer County continues.

In a news release, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said the investigation into the homicides of Robert Grube and Colleen Grube on Nov. 29 and 30, near Fort Recovery, and the home invasion of Kathy and William Fair, near Mendon, are still  being investigated. The two cases have not been linked although there are several similarities to the crimes.

Voters See Light Ballot

ST. MARYS —  Voters approved a local restaurant’s request for Sunday sales during Tuesday’s primary election.

Buffalo Wild Wings saw its request approved by voters in precinct 1A by a count of 137 (79.65 percent) to 35 (20.35 percent) with seven under votes. Another request in the county, Wal-Mart in Wapakoneta, was rejected by voters in precinct 3B by a tally of 63 (55.75 percent) to 50 (44.25 percent).

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Rangers charged with slowing down one of Ohio's best scorers

The New Knoxville girls basketball team is back on the regional stage for the first time in five years with a match-up against one of the most prolific scorers in Ohio girls basketball history.

Hardly a stranger recently to regional basketball, New Madison Tri-Village hopes a third time is a charm for a breakthrough to the state tournament.

The two teams, both hailing from small Western Ohio villages of fewer than 1,000 people, meet in a Division IV regional semifinal on Thursday night at Tipp City Tippecanoe High School at 6:15 p.m.

Voters Reject New Bremen Levy

NEW BREMEN — More than 1,500 New Bremen residents turned out to vote Tuesday, turning down a $13 million school levy for a new elementary building.

Voters rejected the $13 million bond issue for a new K-8 facility 61.07 percent to 38.93 percent. Interim Superintendent John Basinger said he was disappointed in the results.
