MINSTER — Minster Village Councilors reviewed new rates for activities conducted at the community swimming pool during their meeting Monday night.
The committee convened on the ordinance of reviewing the current rates charged at the swimming pool, which have been in effect since 2002. Village Administrator Don Harrod said last week the park committee met and reviewed the current rates and looked at what other communities were charging for the use of their pools. After discussion, the park committee recommended the pool rates be adjusted.
ST. MARYS — Next month, volunteers from across Auglaize County will join together to help a group of local organizations.
The third annual United Way Day of Caring will be held on April 14, and United Way of Auglaize County Director Randy Fisher said the event provides an opportunity for those who want to give back to help local organizations.
Michael J. Schulze, 58, of Beavercreek, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012, while mountain bike riding at Huffman Park in Fairborn.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1953, in Coldwater, to Richard and Agnes (Hausfeld) Schulze, and they survive in Maria Stein.
His life partner since 1977 and wife Jacqueline (Robinson) were married on Nov. 12, 1990, and she survives in Beavercreek.
Maryhelen “Mari” Dorfmeier, 85, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, formerly of Randolph Township in Montgomery County, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Otterbein St. Marys.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1927, in Carroll County, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Armstrong) Roudebush, and they preceded her in death.
On June 9, 1947, in Carrollton, she married William Dorfmeier, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2003.
Almeda Mae Spriggs, 85, of 233 Jill Ave., Celina, died at 3:40 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Celina Manor Nursing Home in Celina.
She was born on Aug. 21, 1926, in Tipton, Ind., to Harley and Mary (Davis) Rosa, and they preceded her in death.
On June 21, 1947, she married Rex Spriggs, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1993.
Almeda is survived by her son, Michael (Barbara) Spriggs of Coldwater; a daughter, Melissa (Ron) Luebke of Celina; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters.
