CELINA — Deputies in Mercer County arrested four people for allegedly stealing farm animals.
In a news release, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said deputies arrested Ricky L. Crouch, 50, of 8709 E. 600 North, Bryant, Ind., and Chad M. Crouch, 28, 537 Touvelle St., Celina. Both men were charged with break and entering, a fifth-degree felony.
Also arrested were Lisa R. Crouch, 42, of 8709 E. 600 North, Bryant, Ind., and Christina L. Crouch, 29, 737 Touvelle St., Celina. Both were charged with receiving stolen property, a first-degree misdemeanor.
ST. MARYS — On July 21, 2000, Chad Klosterman was preparing for his normal Friday night movie with his wife but wanted to check the condition of his four-wheeler before selling it the next day.
He took it out for a ride around his South Carolina neighborhood where the roads were not yet completed and a lane of the traffic was stocked with concrete drainage culverts waiting to be installed.
ST. MARYS — A local eighth-grade student recently nabbed the top honor in a statewide essay competition, and she will be competing next at the national level.
Lindi Cisco, a student in Jonathan Beougher’s class at St. Marys Middle School, competed at the state level in the Patriot’s Pen competition, where she took first place, at the VFW’s Mid-Winter Conference held in Columbus Jan. 28.
Norval P. Weitz, 86, of Celina, died at 7:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on March 8, 1925, in Mercer County, to Gust Weitz and Mabel Brehm, and they preceded him in death.
On Jan. 26, 1963, he married June E. Keel, and she survives him.
Donna Rose Jacobs, 68, of 111 S. Buckeye St., St. Marys, died at 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.
She was born on March 14, 1943, in Detroit, Mich., to Elmer C. and Florence L. (Duffern) Kusterer, and they preceded her in death.
On March 4, 1967, in St. Marys, she married Jack A. Jacobs, and he survives.
She is also survived by a son, David (Tammy) Jacobs of St. Marys; two sisters; three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Todd Jacobs; two brothers; a sister.
Larry Fledderjohann, 68, of rural New Knoxville, died on Monday Feb. 6, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. Arrangements are being completed with the Vornholt – Miller Funeral Home in New Knoxville.
Fred Cook, 79, of St. Marys, died on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Arrangements are incomplete at Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.

Donna Jacobs, 68, of St. Marys, died on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., in St. Marys.
Carolyn P. Stirn, 78, of rural Lima, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born on July 10, 1933, in Wyandot County, to Dale E. and Beggs Parsell, and they preceded her in death. Her stepmother, Dorothy Castainien, also preceded her in death.
On Aug. 28, 1955, she married the Rev. Eldon D. Stirn, and he survives her.
Howard R. Harner, 90, of Celina, died on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at the Gardens at Celina.
He was born on May 16, 1921, in Mercer County, to Clem and Laura (Donovan) Harner, and they preceded him in death.
On Dec. 16, 1949, he married Audrey Davis, and she survives.
He is also survived by Duane (Sue) Harner of Celina; a daughter, Wanda Harner of Florida; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; one grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
