Stacy Timmerman, Capital
COLUMBUS — Stacy Timmerman, a Capital junior and New Bremen grad, scored 15 points and had five rebounds and an assist in the Crusaders’ 66-57 loss to Mount Union on Saturday. Capital slipped to 13-6, 8-4 in the OAC. Timmerman averages 9.6 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.

WAPAKONETA — A Logan County man died from injuries he suffered in a two-car collision Wednesday night near Waynesfield.
Mildred A. Botkin, 93, formerly of 1033 S. Wayne St., St. Marys, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Xenia, where she had resided for the past two years.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1918, in Rockford, the daughter of John and Frances (Witter) Alspaugh, and they preceded her in death.
On June 11, 1946, she married Charles Botkin, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2010.
Dean J. Strawn, 66, of 1310 State Route 29, Celina, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on Nov. 10, 1945, in Van Wert County, to Harley and Erma (Harp) Strawn, and they preceded him in death.
On April 23, 1993, he married Carel Snyder, and she survives in Celina.
He is also survived by a sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two bothers.
Lillian G. Kline, 87, of rural Rockford, died at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the Laurels of Shane Hill.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1924, in Wren, to Ralph Lonice Royer and Mamie Dale Swartz, and they preceded her in death.
On June 29, 1946, in Ohio City, she married D. Wayne Kline, and he survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Ron (Cheryl) Kline of St. Marys and Keith (Karen) Kline of Ohio City; a daughter, Barb Baker of Rockford; a brother; 11 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 15 great-stepgrandchildren.
Jody M. Heppeard Hughes, 47, of Celina, died on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1964, in Celina, to Mary Heppeard Massengill, and she survives.
She married Bill R. Hughes, and he survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Richard Kupper of Wapakoneta, William Brown of Celina and Randy (Tara) Hughes of Washington; two daughters, Kaylea (Tim) Beougher of Celina and Sherri Kupper of Wapakoneta; two brothers; a sister; five grandchildren.
CELINA — Formal charges have been filed against a Celina man in connection with the theft of construction supplies from Shinn Brothers Construction on Summit Street.
In a news release, Celina Police Chief Dave Slusser said the construction company filed a theft report on Jan. 4 after discovering a large number of I-beams were missing from their storage lot. The beams are used for constructing seawalls.
