Paul E. Cales, 71

January 27, 2012

Paul E. Cales, 71, of 11190 Schroeder Road, Lot 13, St. Marys, formerly of Dayton and Sidney, died unexpectedly at 6:56 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born on April 11, 1940, in Greenup, Ky., the son of Henry and Esta (Henson) Cales, and they preceded him in death.

On June 4, 1988, he married Bobbie Sue Neth, and she survives at the residence.

Authorities Looking For Wanted Man

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Bellefontaine Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service is looking for a Jackson Center man wanted in connection with a burglary and bank robbery.

Christopher P. Yaeger, 34, last known to reside in Jackson Center, is wanted in Shelby County on one count of felony burglary after allegedly stealing jewelry and a firearm from a home on Nov. 29 and for allegedly robbing a Huntington Bank in Bellefontaine on Dec. 9. Yaeger has been on the run since the robbery.

WAPAKONETA — The St. Marys wrestling team split a pair of Western Buckeye League matches on Thursday, defeating Van Wert, 40-33, while taking a 51-24 loss Wapakoneta.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Riders win get first WBL win

ST. MARYS — The St. Marys girls basketball team earned its first Western Buckeye League win, a 34-27 victory over Defiance on Thursday night at Murotech Court.

Ashleigh Falk scored a team-high 13 points and Kelly Heitkamp added 12 points to lead the Riders to their third win of the season.

St. Marys led 15-14 at the half before outscoring the Bulldogs 9-7 in the third quarter and 10-6 in the fourth quarter.

Megan Sewell led Defiance with 16 points.

St. Marys improved to 3-12, 1-5 in the WBL.

Wilbur W. Warner, 90

Wilbur W. Warner, 90, of 1110 Nagel St., St. Marys, died at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1921, in New Bremen, the son of Raleigh and Flora (Lutterbein) Warner, and they preceded him in death.

On June 4, 1949, he married Jean Blank, and she survives at the residence.

Betty A. Bowersock, 84

January 27, 2012

Betty A. Bowersock, 84, of 1321 Celina Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at her residence.

She was born on Jan. 17, 1928, in St. Marys, to Ralph and Mary (Ruperd) McElroy, and they preceded her in death.

On Jan. 21, 1949, in Celina, she married Norman R. Bowersock, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2007.

Fred Aukerman Jr., 81

January 27, 2012

Fred Aukerman Jr., 81, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, formerly of Findlay, died on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Mercer County Community Hospital.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1930, in Wabash, Ind., the son of Fred H. B. and Ruby (Keefer) Aukerman, and they preceded him in death.

On June 5, 1955, at the Oak Grove Church of God in Columbia City, Ind., he married Arline E. Hawn, and she survives at the residence in St. Marys.

Helen Lynn Stalder, 65

January 27, 2012

Helen Lynn Stalder, 65, of 310 Stella St., Celina, died at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.

She was born on July 20, 1946, in Paintsville, Ky., to Farmer and Virginia (Shepherd) Holliday, and her mother preceded her in death. Her father survives her in Urbana.

On Dec. 27, 1969, she married Ronald Joseph Stalder, and he survives her in Celina.

She is also survived by two sons, John Stalder of Celina and Joey L. Stalder of Celina; a sister.
