Sharon S. Dues, 59, of Portland, Ind., died on Tuesday Nov. 27, 2012, at her residence.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1953, in Coldwater to parents Frederick J. Rammel and Delma L. Speck, who survives in Celina.

On July 29, 1972, she married Joseph H. Dues in Sharpsburg, and he survives.

Pauline D. Deerhake, 84

Pauline D. Deerhake, 84, of 17226 N. 130th Ave., in Sun City West, Ariz., died at 10:19 p.m. Thursday Nov. 22, 2012, in Sun City.

She was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Wapakoneta to parents Joseph and Daisy (Beeler) Howard.

She married Rueben Deerhake on May 10, 1947, and he survives at the residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Pauline was a 1946 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta.

Larry D. Schwarck, 73

Larry D. Schwarck, 73, of 202 E. German St., New Knoxville, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born Dec. 20, 1938, in St. Marys, the son of Carl and Amanda (Waltz) Schwarck.

He married Joann Warner on Oct. 25, 1958 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 2002.

John Henry “Jack” Walter, 70

John Henry “Jack” Walter, 70, of Delphos and formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 8:07 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the Vancrest Health Care Center of Delphos, where he had been a resident for seven years.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1942, in Wapakoneta, a son of William and Florence Hemmert Walter, who preceded him in death.

On May 19, 1990 he married Clara Balster Brown, who survives in Delphos.

GIRLS HOOPS: Minster moves to 2-0 with win over Miss. Valley

MINSTER — The Minster girls basketball team picked up their second win of the season as they hosted non-league opponent Mississinawa Valley Tuesday night.

The Wildcats quickly jumped to a big halftime lead and never looked back in a 58-31 win in their home opener.

Minster led 30-8 at the half.

This holiday season, the couple — owners of the Tastee Treat in St. Marys — decided to sponsor the donation of Christmas trees to needy families in the area. “Santa’s Trees” is not a contest — the trees are meant to make as many family Christmases as special as possible.

Dorsey G. Vulgamott, 71

Dorsey G. Vulgamott, 71, of Lima, resident of the Lima Manor, died at 3:58 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born on Feb. 1, 1941, in Spencerville to parents Freddie G. and Laura Emily Hiler Vulgamott, who preceded him in death.

In 1958, he first married Gwendoln Lutterbeck, who preceded him in death in 2010.

His second marriage was to Glenna E. “Lou” Young on March 5, 1971, and she preceded him in death on March 14, 1994.

Gladys Barnes Scales, 90

Gladys Barnes Scales, 90, of Celina, died on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on April 15, 1922, in Somerset, Ky. to parents Henry and Rushia Lewis Barnes.

On  June 14, 1947, she married James Thomas Scales, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1996.
