ST. MARYS — Friends and family are coming together in December to help a local resident in need.
A “Fun Night” will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the St. Marys VFW to help Dave “Stubby” Whetstone cover his medical expenses. Whetstone in currently battling cancer.
ST. MARYS — Members of the St. Marys Board of Education met Wednesday and unanimously voted for the preparation and submission of a bid package that will ultimately determine which company will complete the masonry work on the outside brick facade of the high school and middle school building.
The ads for these bids will be placed on or around Nov. 19 and bids will be received at 1 p.m. Dec. 17 at the District Service Center.
Jean M. Lowman, 88, formerly of 621 Augustus St., St. Marys, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Otterbein St. Marys.
She was born on March 30, 1924, in St. Marys, the daughter of Ralph and Amelia (Kammer) Ferris, and they preceded her in death.
On May 4, 1946, she married William J. Hail, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1964. On Nov. 26, 1974, she married Maurice Lowman, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1987.
Richard P. Crouse, 88, of 930 Hager St., St. Marys, died at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in St. Marys.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1923, in Dayton, the son of Albert and Olivia (Balyeat) Crouse, and they preceded him in death.
On July 18, 1943, he married Marian Abbott, and she survives at the residence.
Beatrice “Bea” Everhart Behr, 93, of Fryburg, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born on March 28, 1919, in Green County, Tenn., the daughter of James F. and Lillie P. (Stroud) Gillette, and they preceded her in death.
On Nov. 6, 1937, she married Paul T. Everhart, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1984. On May 1, 1999, she married Wilbur C. Behr, and he survives.
