ST. MARYS — With the boom of a cannon, the third annual Veterans Day parade got started and gave all local residents a chance to pay tribute to those who fought for their freedom.
Residents lined Spring Street, waved flags and saluted the veterans as they made their way through the procession. St. Marys Mayor Pat McGowan got the day started by welcoming those who came out on the sunny day.
John M. Rauh, 68, of Coldwater, died on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1944, in Celina, to Urban Rauh and Cecelia (Reichert), and they preceded him in death.
On Nov. 15, 2011, he married Janie C. (Turner) Rauh, and she survives in Decatur, Ind.
He is survived by a stepson, Eric (Tina) Sorg of La Salle, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Hannah Martin of St. Marys; a brother; six stepgrandchildren; a brother-in-law.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Rhya Howell, nine months, the daughter of Kori Howell of St. Marys, died on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, in the emergency department of Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
Larry D. Bollenbacher, 70, of Celina, died on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his home.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1942, in Sidney, to Ernest and Mable (Howell) Bollenbacher, and they preceded him in death.
On April 18, 1998, he married Linda (Shearer), and she survives in Celina.
Kathleen “Kate” Bergman, 80, of 8635 Erie Drive, Maria Stein, died at 9:19 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1932, in Versailles, to Bernard and Victoria (Pleiman) Schulze, and they preceded her in death.
On June 20, 1956, in Osgood, she married Eugene Bergman, and he survives in Maria Stein.
Paul Adams, 81, of Celina, died on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1930, in Dayton, to David and Abigail (Adams) Adams, and they preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne D. (Wehrkamp) Adams of Celina; three children, Patricia Howard, David Adams and Pamela (Dan) Reed, all of Celina; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister; a sister-in-law.
He is preceded in death by two brothers; a sister.
Kurt Allan Metzger, 53, of Coldwater, died at 7:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born on May 13, 1959, in Lima, to Kermit E. ‘Whitey’ and Maris Yuteve Kirchner Metzger, and they survive him in Wapakoneta.
He is survived by a sister, Elisha (Bart) Smith of Wapakoneta; his nieces, Andrea Smith Brookhart and Emily Smith; an uncle and aunt, Norman and Bonnie Kirchner; many cousins.
