ST. MARYS — George Neargarder, Thomas Anderson and Larry Shelby joined a list of distinguished St. Marys residents Saturday night, as the three were honored as the 2012 inductees to the St. Marys Memorial High School Hall of Fame.
The St. Marys Memorial High School Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and Ceremony was held on Saturday night at the St. Marys American Legion Post 323, honoring Neargarder with the Academic/Professional Award, Anderson with the Athletic Achievement Award and Shelby with the Service to St. Marys City Schools Award.
Edwin Eugene Springer, 65, of Wapakoneta, entered eternal life at 2:44 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at this residence. The Lord surely said, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Eddie was born on Jan. 10, 1947, in Celina, to Charles and Martha (Dennings) Springer, and they preceded him in death.
On Feb. 4, 1967, he married Shirley (Cook) Springer, and she survives in Wapakoneta.
cc, of 209 1/2 S. Main St., in St. Marys, died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 9, 1953, in Auglaize County, to Theodore and Leota (Keiber) Brincefield, and they preceded her in death.
She is survived by three brothers; two sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five bothers; three sisters; her boyfriend.
Private family services will be held.

Ruth Ann Burch, 56, of Meranda Road, Anna, died on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, while on a pilgrimage trip to Mejugorje, Croatia.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1955, in Sidney, to Cletus and Mary Ruth (Homan) Hoying, and they survive in McCartyville.
On Oct. 5, 1984, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in McCartyville, she married Gale Burch, and he survives in McCartyville.
She is also survived by her children, Andrew and Rebecca, both at home; three siblings; her father-in-law; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Merlyn W. Ashbrook, 56, of Sidney, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center.
He was born on April 25, 1956, in Troy, to Loyd and Lorain (Rodewald) Ashbrook, and they preceded him in death.
He is survived by four siblings; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth June McCall, 86, of 3012 Kuhn Road, Coldwater, died on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Briarwood Village Nursing Home in Coldwater.
She was born on June 6, 1926, in Butler Township, to Frank A. and Theresa A. (Kastner) Beeson, and they preceded her in death.
Thelma Katherine Mallory, 80, of 440 Touvelle St., Celina, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on April 23, 1932, in San Bernadino, Calif., to Walter Marian and Mamie Cathern (Campfield) Jones, and they preceded her in death.
Kathryn L. Kinnaman, 62, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:56 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at her residence.

ST. MARYS — What was getting Wapakoneta down the field wasn’t producing points, so the Redskins employed a little razzle-dazzle to crack the scoreboard and take control of its rivalry game against the St. Marys Roughriders.
Wapakoneta’s 28-yard hook and lateral touchdown late in the second quarter staked the Redskins to a lead they’d never get close to losing. Wapak added a late touchdown and defeated St. Marys, 14-0, on a field at Skip Baughman Stadium that doubled as a marsh for the second time in three weeks.
ROCKFORD — On a cold rainy football Friday night at Rockford, the Minster Wildcats dominated the Parkway Panthers in Midwest Athletic Conference action, 43-16.
