Terry Carmean, 64, of St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his residence. Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
Mark A. Whited, 65, of Anna, died at 11:37 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
He was born on July 9, 1947, in St. Marys, to Charles F. Whited Sr. and Mary Ellen Schwarck, and his mother preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Matthew Whited of Anna; a daughter, Marty Whited of Celina; a brother; a sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Whited; a brother.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Paul Joseph Rockwood, 55, of St. Marys, died at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on Jan. 14, 1957, in Celina, to Paul F. and Dolores Mae (Johnson) Rockwood, and they preceded him in death.
Thomas L. Hager, 66, of 118 Defiance St., St. Marys, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1945, in Dayton, to Leo and Zillah (Miller) Hager, and they preceded him in death.
He is survived by three children, Gretchen Hager of Wapakoneta, Kurt Hager of St. Marys and Allison Ivy (Richard) Shinn of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Lidea Bowersock, Sidney Boruff and Sacora Shinn.
He was a graduate of Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton.
Shirley Mae Engel, 82, formerly of 503 E. Auglaize St., Wapakoneta, died on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home.
She was born on April 2, 1930, in Cincinnati, to Louis and Frieda (Kattelman) Meier, and they preceded her in death.
On June 27, 1953, in Barnesburg, she married A. Eugene Engel, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2009.
ST. MARYS — For 86 years, Memorial High School stood at the center of St. Marys and was a gathering place for the community.
“The old school was the center of our community for generations — for 86 years to be exact,” Author Buz Howard read from his newest book, “The Life and Times of Memorial High School: A Pictorial History, 1924-2010” Tuesday night. “From 1924 to 2010, it stood majestically right in the center of our town.”
