TROY — The Minster girls cross country team captured the Division III regional championship at Troy on Saturday afternoon and will be back at the state tournament in search of its 10th state title in school history.
The Wildcats scored 65 points to edge out second-place Russia, which had 69 points.
Minster’s seven runners all finished in the top 37.
Minster senior Hannah Butler led the way with an eighth-place finish and a 19:59 time.
CELINA — Greeted by a raucous crowd that packed the Celina Fieldhouse on Sunday, the Republican ticket of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan energized their Republican base in this part of the state a mere nine days before the election.
“Celina, are you going to help us win this thing,” Ryan asked the crowd moments after being introduced by Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor. “As we think about what’s important to us ... Let’s remember this is the most important election in our lifetime, no matter what generation you come from. We have a lot at stake.”
Paul Joseph Rockwood, 55, of St. Marys, died on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. Arrangements are being completed with the Miller- Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Thomas Hager, 66, of St. Marys, died on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at his residence. Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
Maureen A. Coyle, 77, of Wapakoneta, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1935, in Staten Island, N.Y., to Patrick and Ann Cassidy.
She married James R. Coyle, and he survives.
She is also survived by four children, Linda (Daniel) McCune of Wapakoneta, Debbie (Mark Harshbarger) Martin of Wapakoneta, Pat (Kim) Weiler of St. Marys and Holly (Donnie Browning) Wallace of Botkins; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Barbara) Koritar of Denver, Colo.
Peggy E. Chamberlin, 75, of New Bremen and formerly of Sidney, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Otterbein Retirement Community of St. Marys.
She was born on July 26, 1937, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of John C. and Ruth (Jackson) Toth.
On Dec. 15, 1956, she married H. Dan Chamberlin, and he survives in New Bremen.
Paul Thomas Bost, 73, of Celina, died at 2:17 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y.
He was born on March 11, 1939, in Florida, Ohio, to Florence (Smith) Ludeman and Donald Bost Sr., and they preceded him in death.
In May 1961, he married Shirley Toth, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 1962. On June 24, 1963, he married Mary Ann Rohr, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2001.
