ST. MARYS — Less than 48 hours after allegedly robbing the Shell Station on Celina Road, a local man faces criminal charges stemming from the incident.
At 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Glenn Tuttle Jr., 42, last known address 1122 Hager St. Apt. 12, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. Tuttle is believed to be the person who walked into a Shell Station shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday, indicated he had a gun under his clothing and walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash.

50 Years Ago This Week – 1962
Fifty years ago this week, the St. Marys Roughriders squared off against the Bellefontaine Chieftains and had little trouble as they rolled to a 25-14 victory.
The Roughriders buried the Chieftains all night with long touchdown runs, as they improved to 3-3 on the season with hopes of capturing the Western Buckeye League title still hanging in the balance.
WAPAKONETA — Two Dayton residents were arrested on Tuesday as the result of an undercover drug bust by members of the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.
In a news release, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said the arrests took place in Wapakoneta following a short-term investigation. A substantial amount of heroin and cocaine were seized. More than 10 grams of drugs were seized with a street value of approximately $800.
NEW BREMEN — In an effort to separate discipline and academics, the New Bremen Board of Education approved a list of changes in the school’s policies Wednesday night at its monthly meeting.
Several policies were updated to reflect the goal of separating the two. The first changed the school suspension grade policy.
“We want that separation of discipline and academics,” Superintendent Howard Overman said. “In talking to the staff, a zero is almost impossible to bring it (a student’s overall grade) back up.”
ST. MARYS — The two candidates facing off for the newly created Ohio House’s 82nd District seat stated their cases to voters of a local civic group on Wednesday.
The St. Marys Rotary Club hosted Nonpartisan candidate Pete Schlegel and Republican candidate Tony Burkley as part of its annual debate.
Burkley is a four-term Paulding County commissioner and Schlegel has an agriculture, law enforcement and business background.
Robert H. Potts, 88, of 534 Armstrong St., St. Marys, formerly of Arlington Heights, Ill., died suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 13, 1924, in Noble Township, Auglaize County, the son of Harry and Inez (Springer) Potts, and they preceded him in death.
