ST. MARYS — The St. Marys Community Public Library Board of Trustees swore in a returning member and elected its president, vice president and secretary at its regular meeting Wednesday afternoon.
Linda Schloemer was sworn in by Ed Pierce and will be returning to her role as vice president of the board. Bill Angel will serve another term as president, and Ruth Ramsey will serve another term as secretary. Board members also passed a motion to reappoint Fiscal Officer Robert Maurer.
ST. MARYS — A local police officer met with area seniors to inform them about the importance of personal safety.
St. Marys Police Sgt. Jake Sutton put on a safety program for senior citizens at the Auglaize County Council on Aging Wednesday morning, where he stressed the seniors should be aware of their surroundings, take certain precautions and have an emergency plan in place.
Suzann T. Sunderland, 63, of Celina, died at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1948, in Mercer County, to Wilferd Rutschilling and Alma Schemmel, and they preceded her in death.
On May 16, 1970, she married Harry Mike Sunderland, and he survives her.
Marian Holthaus, 83, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Auglaize Acres.
Arrangements are incomplete at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta, where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Bonnie Lou Deitsch, 69, died on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Via Christia St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1942, in Wilsonville, Neb., to Earl and Evelyn (Martin) Kinne, and they preceded her in death.
On April 7, 1980, in Bever City, Neb., she married Lloyd Deitsch Jr., and he survives her.
She is also survived by a daughter, Elea Durr of Hoisington, Kan.; 10 brothers and sisters; a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
