ST. MARYS — Results of an alum test project in April on three locations within Grand Lake St. Marys yielded results that could bode well for the lake.
NEW KNOXVILLE — New Knoxville Local School has acquired new technology to aide students that have difficulty taking notes.
The district purchased two Echo Smartpens, which record a lecture while the student is taking notes. Principal Linda Tebbe said she saw a demonstration for the smartpen at a workshop.
Daniel “Dale” Leonard Sr., 85, of Celina, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on June 20, 1926, in Celina, to Charles C. and Bessie P. (Ketcham) Leonard, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 10, 1951, he married Mary Joan Whited, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2008.
Mary Gallimore, 88, of St. Marys, died on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at Otterbein Retirement Community.
Arrangements are being completed with Miller – Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys, where visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Richard Virgil Cedric Bartlett, 77, of Westerville, formerly of St. Marys, died on Saturday, Aug., 27, 2011.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1934, in Deshler, to Harold T. and Velma A. (Colvin) Bartlett, and they preceded him in death.
He is survived by five children, Deborah (Raymond) Karbowiak, Bradley (Marie) Bartlett, Shirley (Douglas) Dosky, Jeffrey (Erin) Bartlett and Stanley Bartlett; two nephews, Jon Woodward and Daniel Opperman; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two sisters.
Jack Willard Bayman, 75, of Luverne, Ala., formerly of St. Marys, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, following an extended illness.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1935, to Lucille (Cowhick) and George Bayman, and they preceded him in death.
