Nancy L. Greiwe, 62, of Wapakoneta, died suddenly at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at St Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1949, in Ada, the daughter of Homer and Pearl (Lamb) Maxson, and they preceded her in death.
ST. MARYS — The St. Marys Living Center recognized its nursing assistants Thursday in conjunction with the National Network of Career Nursing Assistants’ 34th Annual Nursing Assistants Day.
The celebration is in recognition of the nursing assistants who have dedicated their time to the lives and well-being of others. Nursing assistants are “key players” in the lives of residents, providing as much as 80 to 90 percent of the direct care to residents in long-term care facilities, according to the National Network of Career Nursing Assistants website.
ST. MARYS — Numerous residents flocked to Holy Rosary School to check out the annual Holy Rosary Garage Sale, which started on Thursday and runs through Saturday.
“We’ve had a very good first day — for the first half of this first day,” Holy Rosary Garage Sale Co-Chair Peg Larkin said.
She noted there were people waiting to get in to the building before she even arrived Thursday morning to open the sale.

Rider Rooter Golf Outing on June 25
The Rider Rooters will hold their 25th annual golf outing. The outing will feature a new format, with a four-person scramble taking place on Saturday June 25 at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Northmoor Country Club. The morning flight will be served a catered dinner by Dave Wright after the tournament and the afternoon flight will be served at 11:30 p.m. prior to the tournament. Members of Northmoor pay $35, which includes a cart. Non-members pay $50, and it includes a cart. Call Denny Vogel for reservations at 419-394-3361.
William Howard “Bill” Nagel, 90, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on July 11, 1920, in Wapakoneta, the son of Wilbur and Rose (Strominger) Nagel, who preceded him in death.
On April 13, 1950, he married Theresa Niese, and she survives.
He is also survived by four children, Dave Nagel, Bernie (Jay) Lindquist, Mark (Chris) Nagel and Mick (Scott) Carlson; many grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister.
Elsie E. Leugers, 102, of McCartyville, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Meadows at Ottawa Glandorf.
She was born on March 3, 1909, in Minster, to Frank and Rose (Thieman) Wacker, who preceded her in death.
On October 9, 1946, she married Norbert W. Leugers and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Greg (Mary) Leugers of Sylvania; a daughter, Paula (Kenneth) Elchinger of Ottawa; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald, and a brother.
Homer Ray Robinette, 70, of 1126 Nagel St., St. Marys, died at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Doctor’s West Hospital in Columbus.
He was born on June 2, 1941, in Williamson, W. Va., the son of Lee and Effie (Blacke) Robinette, and they preceded him in death.
NEW BREMEN — On Tuesday, a local village council officially accepted the resignation of one of its employees, effective Friday, as she will soon be leaving for South Carolina.
Karen Mauch became the first New Bremen economic development director in April 2006. She recently sat down with The Evening Leader to discuss what she has seen in her work with the village since she began as the village planner, now known as the economic development director position.
