Area high school basketball schedules will be a little more packed in the near future.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association board of directors on Thursday voted to expand the high school basketball season to 22 games for the 2012-13 season.
Currently, teams in Ohio are able to play up to 20 games. The length of the season itself will not be expanded.
Here's a list of weekend happenings taking place around the area:
June 11: The Southwestern Auglaize County Relay for Life is scheduled to end today.
A regifting/garage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon today in the parking lot of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 130 N. Wayne St., St. Marys.
Holy Rosary Festival continues today.
June 12: The Soundwaves Chorus will perform at 6:30 p.m. today at the Crown Pavilion in New Bremen.

ST. MARYS — An annual festival kicks off Friday, netting entertainment, food and rides for area residents.
Holy Rosary Festival officially opens at 5 p.m., and it will run through Sunday evening.
“This is for the school,” said Rob Menker, a member of the Holy Rosary Festival Steering Committee. “All the proceeds go back to the school.”
The funds go toward operating expenses.
“We could not operate the school without the money raised from the festival,” Menker said.
