St. Marys took advantage of its first chance at turnabout this summer.
The St. Marys ACME baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for a 7-6 win over Coldwater on Tuesday night, turning the tables on the lone team to top the Roughriders this June.
Nick Vogel brought home the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh to give the Riders a walk-off victory.
ST. MARYS — The Wayne Street United Methodist Church will be holding the first-ever Waynestock Living for the Rock concert on July 23 in the church sanctuary.
The all-day event will feature a variety of music, including some local talent. The lineup includes Just Us Gospel Quartet, Bill Parrish, Awaken Band, Days Apart, Lori Triplett and Harlend Band. Doors will open at 2 p.m. with the first band set to play at 2:30 p.m.
Keith Jacobs said he expects Just Us Gospel Quartet and Triplett to be a large draw.
ST. MARYS — Locals looking to stay in town and still be able to hear local bands, can head over to Memorial Park as the 2011 Rotary Summer Concert Series kicks off on Sunday.
Six performers will be featured this year during the program, which has been occurring in St. Marys for more than 20 years, Chair Jeff Squire said.
“Rotary sponsors the Summer Concert Series, and as part of the Rotary Club, I’m the chair of the concert series,” Squire noted.
ST. MARYS — After months on the decline, the unemployment rate in Auglaize County edged slightly higher in May.
According to data released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Auglaize County registered an unemployment rate of 7.6 percent, an increase of 0.3 percent from April’s 7.3 percent. Last year the unemployment rate for the county was at 9 percent.
Lucille E. Lehman, 97, of 216 N. Buckeye St., St. Marys, died at 9:41 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011, at the St. Marys Living Center.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1914, in Mansfield, the daughter of Gail and Gertrude (Cunningham) Van Tilbrough, and they preceded her in death.
On Aug. 31, 1934, she married Daniel Dale Lehman, and he preceded her in death on July 27, 1986.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Mallory of St. Marys and Judy (Wayne) Wilson of Largo, Fla.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lavida Grimm of Celina.
