Dec. 19: The New Knoxville Community Library will host a storytime from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. today for ages 3-5.
The New Bremen Public Library will host an after school snack at 3:30 p.m. today.
The FJ Stallo Memorial Library in Minster will host a bingo event from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. today.
A Zumba class will be held from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. today at Woodland Rollerdome in St. Marys.
The Minster Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m. today.

ST. MARYS — Local high school students received information on what exactly they can be punished for when it comes to alcohol — whether it’s having someone purchase it for them, drinking it with their parents or drinking with their friends.
Agent John Burton with the Ohio Investigative Unit spoke to the students in Monica VanderHorst’s health classes on Thursday about the “Sober Truth.”
ST. MARYS — An Ohio senator says he is confident a deal will get done to prevent what he called a tax hike on working Americans.
Irvine Triplett, 82, of Pippa Passes, Ky., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1929, in Hollybush, to Sylvester Triplett and Clarinda Jacobs Triplett.
Pamela Sue Fink, 61, of 607 Beech St., St. Marys, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at her residence.
She was born on April 11, 1950, in Mercer County, to Donald and Ruth (Kelley) Fink, and her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives her in St. Marys.

KENTON — The Kenton Wildcats jumped out to a 10-point halftime lead and went on to defeat the St. Marys girls basketball team, 61-46, on Thursday night. Kelly Heitkamp, Ashleigh Falk and Molly Albert scored 10 points apiece to lead the Roughriders. St. Marys fell to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in the Western Buckeye League. The Riders host Sidney Lehman Catholic next Thursday at 6 p.m. Kenton improved to 3-1 on the season and 1-1 in the WBL.
10 Years Ago This Week – 2001
A decade ago this week, the St. Marys Lady Roughriders locked horns with the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans in a battle of unbeatens as far as the Western Buckeye League was concerned.
Marcus Reineke, Cedarville
Reineke, a Cedarville freshman and New Knoxville grad, scored seven points, grabbed a rebound and dished out an assist in Cedarville’s 83-68 loss to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday in Owensboro, Kentucky. Reineke has played in all nine Yellow Jacket games and is averaging 7.1 points per game with a 51.7 percent shooting percentage from beyond the three-point arc (15-of-29).Cedarville is 6-3 on the season and will be at Southern Indiana on Saturday in Evansville.
