ST. MARYS — Local students listened to a recent graduate about the dangers of texting while driving during their health classes on Wednesday.
Shelby Core, a 2011 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, visited the students in Monica VanderHorst’s health classes on Wednesday to discuss texting while driving, a topic she chose to cover during an advocacy project in one of her classes at Ohio Northern University.
ST. MARYS — The city’s top engineer has been named interim safety-service director in St. Marys.
Mayor-elect Patrick McGowan confirmed to The Evening Leader he has appointed current Engineering Superintendent Craig Moeller to serve as the city’s interim safety-service director. Current Safety-Service Director Tom Hitchcock announced his resignation, effective Dec. 31, so that he could accept the same position with the city of Celina.
