ST. MARYS — Two St. Marys men have been flown to a Dayton area hospital after a crash early this morning on Glynwood Road at Ohio 116.
Garet Schmehl, 20, 17906 Ohio 66, St. Marys, who was driving, and a passenger, Jeremy Robinson, 20, of 821 Motz St., St. Marys, were both transported from the site of the crash by St. Marys EMS to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, in St. Marys.
Jimmy R. Severns, 78, of Mendon, died at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
He was born on March 15, 1933, in Mercer County, to Otto and Ruby Thomas Severns, and they preceded him in death.
On April 28, 1957, he married Freda Eileen Crider, and she survives him.
He is also survived by a son, Carl (Marsha) Severns of Mendon; a sister-in-law; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Dean Severns; three sisters; a brother; a great-graddaughter.
Wesley F. Plikerd, 79, of Spencerville, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothea Pugh Plikerd of Spencerville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Jan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery, with military rites.
John Frey III, 40, of St. Marys, died on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at his residence.
Auglaize County Coroner’s investigator Steve Stienecker has ordered that an autopsy be performed to determine the cause of his death.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys
Dale Anthony Dominic Eversman, 30, of 09516 Auglaize County Road 66-A, New Bremen, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at his residence from complications of Marfans Syndrome.
He was born on April 27, 1981, in St. Marys, to Cynthia Eversman and Dale Junod, and his mother survives him in New Bremen.
CELINA — A local lake official says progress is being made that could result in a facility being built to help in the battle to heal Grand Lake St. Marys.
ST. MARYS — The newest addition to the city of St. Marys’ business portfolio recently opened its doors to area shoppers.
A steady stream of shoppers filled the parking lot in front of Tractor Supply Company on Friday and Saturday. The store, located in the former Chief’s building in St. Marys Square, boasts a wide selection of agricultural, outdoors and livestock supplies.
