MINSTER — Presale tickets for Saturday night’s Minster vs. Marion Local Division VI playoff football game at Wapakoneta will be on sale this week.
Tickets are $7 pre-sale and $9 at the gate. Minster keeps a percentage of the proceeds from pre-sale tickets.

ST. MARYS — Hiking Ohio’s Buckeye Trail: A 1400 mile Journey is the name of the Heritage Trails Park District program at 7 p.m. today at the Lockkeepers House in New Bremen.
Circling Ohio, the Buckeye Trail runs right through Auglaize County on the Miami and Erie Canal Towpath. Andy Niekamp, a seasoned hiker, started walking the Buckeye Trail in the spring of this year and finished 88 days later with pictures to share and stories to tell of his rainy trail adventure.
Mary Jo Pfenning, 79, of 241 N. Spruce St., St. Marys, died at 8:49 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, following a sudden illness.
She was born on April 22, 1932, in St. Marys, to William and Erma (Sprague) Suchland, and they preceded her in death.
On Oct. 2, 1952, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, she married J. Philip Pfenning, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 2007.
Richard E. Hoagland, 75, passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Garden Manor Retirement Village.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1936, in St. Marys.
He was the beloved grandfather of Shannon, Jennifer and Chelsea, and they survive him.
He is also survived by a sister, Joan (Sidney) Milder; a brother-in-law, Charles Weaver; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hobing.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Vine Street Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, with the Rev. Elizabeth Senft officiating. Interment will follow.
John E. Fiely, 79, passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on Jan. 1, 1932, in St. Rose, to John J. and Gertrude (Hagadorn) Fiely, and they preceded him in death.
On Dec. 1, 1951, John married Alice E. Backs, and she survives.
Patricia Deubler, 60, of St. Marys, died on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memeorial Hospital.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys.
David ‘Spock’ Bertke, 46, of Montezuma, died on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, of a severe stroke at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on March 7, 1965, in Coldwater, to Dennis and Ruth (Huecker) Bertke, and his father survives him in Maria Stein. His mother preceded him in death.
Spock is survived by his 10 brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
ST. MARYS — City engineers will soon determine if a pair of traffic signals are needed at two intersections in St. Marys.
St. Marys City Councilors agreed to refer a request made by Dean Hobler to have a traffic study conducted on the intersections of Columbia and Spruce streets and High and Chestnut streets to determine if a traffic signal is needed during their meeting Monday night. Hobler penned a letter to city councilors requesting the study based upon a change in traffic patterns because of the location of the new school.
ST. MARYS — A group of local educators and employers teamed up on Monday night to provide an opportunity for area residents to learn about local job opportunities and the ways to obtain the skills needed to be successful.
The open house was the latest effort to bridge the gap between the number of job opportunities available and the number of skilled workers in the area.
“For residents to have a better understanding of the opportunities that are available in our region,” Organizer Angela Hamberg said of why the open house was held.
